Fairy Dream

Hello there,

Maria here today with a fairy inspired card. I used a few lovely chipboards from Scrapiniec to create the look of a garden for a fairy . Since this is a card, I kept things pretty simple and clean without creating too much dimension. I still want to be able to put it into an envelope and mail it out.

To add color to the chipboards, I use alcohol markers because they blend nicely and they are not super wet. If you use wet paints  you can damage the chipboard. I prefer using the alcohol markers or ink pads.

Since these chipboards are so lovely and nicely done, I wanted to keep them as the focal point and avoid using other embellishments.
This is the very first creation I made using the chipboards and I love the result. I hope you get to try them out too because they work really great for cardmaking, home decor, layouts, mixed media, etc..

Hej kochani!

Mam Wam dziś do pokazania aż trzy kartki oraz kurs - tutorial,

który krótko podpowiada, jak dopasować tekturki scrapińcowe do kolorowej pracy.

Zazwyczaj w moich pracach używam surowych scrapińcowych tekturek, bo bardzo lubię ich kolor.

Ale dzisiaj nie mogłam się powstrzymać, żeby do tych kartek pokolorować tekturki tak,

by kolorystycznie idealnie pasowały do całości.

Ponieważ do kolorowania digi stempli używam kredek akarelowych,

to pomyślałam, że i tekturki mogę nimi pomalować.

Najpierw dopasowałam mieszankę różnych kredek tak, by powstał kolor czerwony

identyczny z tym, który występuje w użytym papierze.

Następnie za pomocą pędzelka i wody naniosłam pierwszą jaśniejszą (nieco rozwodnioną) warstwę koloru.

Nie nakładajcie jej zbyt dużo, żeby tekturka się nie rozmiękczyła, ale też nie martwcie się,

jeśli wyda się Wam, że tekturka zmienia nieco konsystencję - jak wyschnie wróci do normy.

Teraz nabrałam mocniejszego koloru na pędzel, biorąc mniej wody, a więcej kredki.

I ponownie pokolorowałam cały napis.

Jeśli chcecie, by napis nie był jednolity, to mocniej możecie pomalować tylko wybrane fragmenty tekturki.

Marine mixed-media panel

Hello, craft souls!

It's Victoria here today, with a new project. I dream about living by the sea one day, so this panel gives me inspiration. I like to mix nautical theme with flowers, and delicate Scrapiniec chipboards make great finishing touches.
Also I adore these large sentiments, they are perfect for altered art, layouts or albums.

This month we are sharing our techniques of colouring chipboard, personally I prefer heat embossing. I enjoy the look of melting powder every time I use it!

 I covered the first layer of the sentiment with spray and embossed the main part with white powder. Then I sprayed it once again to create small spots of colour on white.

 These magnolia flowers are embossed with white and mint powders.

 The stars are covered with blue metallic embossing powder.

 Delicate flourish swirles are embossed in white to pop up on the background.

Za oknami powolnie rozkwita maj, a ja mam dla Was pozornie chłodną, ale jednak bardzo szczególną dla mnie inspirację. Tym razem postanowiłam przygotować scrap z wykorzystaniem ślicznych scrapińcowych tekturek.
Scrap dość oszczędny w dodatkach. Kwiatki, tekturki, odrobina mediów. Czasem nie potrzeba niczego więcej :)
