Vicky Varvadouka- last project :)

Hello dear crafters!

This is my last project as a guest designer for Scrapiniec. It was a great honor and I had a lot of fun playing with all the beautiful chipboard designs!! Thank you very much! This layout is devoted to Asica Panewka because her favorite color is lilac :) . For the background I used a stencil and 3 different shades of purple/lilac distress inks. The chipboard pieces were also painted with distress inks, white paint and stickles. I hope I have inspired you the last three months! Remember, there are no rules! Just let yourself free to create ART from your heart and have fun!! Hugs from Greece!!xoxo

Hello dear crafters!

Once again, I focused on the colors of my photo in order to create the background so I used khaki, blue and pink. I glued small pieces of paper together, covered with gesso, then I applied some modeling paste using a stencil and sprayed with water and mists. The chipboard pieces were painted with distress inks and gelatos. Thanks for looking, have a nice day!!

Vicky Varvadouka- Guest Designer presents

Hello dear crafters,
Today I am sharing with you a page I made to remember our lovely time in Istanbul. I have used warm colors in order to match the atmosphere of the city! The chipboard pieces were mainly painted with gelatos and gold glitter. For the background, I glued some pieces of chipboard, covered them with gesso and then I sprayed with water and several mists. Some stamping as well and then I created my cluster using also some rope and burlap to give texture! Thanks for looking! Have a nice day!

Hello dear friends!! I would like to share with you today a layout I made featuring my older daughter "Nefeli". She has a great look on her face so it was a perfect match with the title "Dreamer". The tip for this page is to use two different papers glued together and in the middle, to place some lace in order to give texture, depth and a shabby chic look!!
Have a nice weekend!

Hello dear friends!

For today's post I have created a canvas. I like to play around and experiment. I covered all the canvas with gesso, Second step was to add some texture using a stencil and modeling paste. I sprayed 4 different shades of green, some red and orange and a lot of water to mix them up! Then I stamped randomly and built my cluster. In the end I used some gold glitter to give some shine here and there. The chipboard pieces were painted gold and then they were distressed with some Ranger distress inks. I am sorry for the dark photos but Autumn has finally reached my country :P
Have a nice creative weekend!!xo

Hello dear friends!

The title of this layout is "Dare"! Don't be afraid to try new things, new mediums, new techniques, play with colors and get dirty! It is a surprisingly liberating feeling! This is what I did in this layout! I partially covered my paper with gesso, then added modeling paste using a stencil. Next move is to start spraying your mists consecutively with water! If you are not happy with the result, you can add color using a brush onto the concrete points that you wish or remove paint by covering with gesso. Next step is random stamping (something I cannot live without)! Find pieces of paper (from your scraps) and embellies that match the colors and build your cluster. In order to give a lot of depth, use pieces of thick chipboard to glue your papers together! This way you have big gaps in between to tack in your bits and pieces ;). A small tip for your chip embellies, I always cover them either with stickles or glossy accents or I heat emboss them in order to make them stand out!
Greetings from hot Greece!! Still 25 degrees!! Can you believe it?? LOL!!!!

Guest Designer Vicky presents

Hello from still hot and sunny Greece!!
A scrapbooking layout for me is all about the memories. It is meaningless to use an artistic photo as I want to create albums for each of my children and when they look at them to be able to say..."Oh, remember this/when/where" and not just say "Nice piece of art". It is very easy to choose an artistic photo from the internet to match your papers perfectly but it is difficult to use your own photos, especially when they have many colors! So, In this case I decided to create my own background!!!
Steps:
1. Cover a white cardstock with a gel medium
2. Paint stripes of different colors using gelatos
3. Spray the whole paper with water and dry out using a heat gun
4. Apply another layer of gel medium
5. Grab your favourite stencil, cover with versamark and use white embossing powder
6. Final step is stamping, splashing and feel free to use any embellishments you like!!
